Playing his first T20 World Cup game, a high-pressure encounter against arch-rivals Pakistan, the young fast bowler removed opposition captain Babar Azam on a golden duck with his very first ball. He followed it up with the wicket of the other opener, Mohammad Rizwan, in his next over.</p>\n<p>The Punjab player finished as the leading wicket-taker for his team in that tournament. In the next edition of the T20 World Cup in 2024, he was the overall join-highest wicket taker for the tournament, taking 17 scalps.
